Loads of people said ill be wasting my time...and im going the ITB route on a 1242 16v engine. Im just waiting on a email to comfirm sizes of the throttle bodies then cash will be exchanged
Do you mean carbs? For the street? I can't see it ever passing emissions. Throttle bodies are a possibility, if you can find some small enough..........
Carbs not a prob just need to be set up properly,i have a set fitted on my kitcar take a look here www.locostbuilders.co.uk and have a search for bike carbs all the info on fitting/tuning is on there or just ask.
OK, I'll believe you. But he's planning a turbo, and really there's no point in individual TBs with a turbo.
Webers can be run with a turbo, but they need modifing.

Sure they can. Just about any carb can be modified to suit. But, performance wise, while there's an advantage to be got from one injector per cylinder, there are no real gains -- on a turbo -- to one tb per cylinder.
Yes, I am au fait with these primitive instruments.
By the time you've sorted out a manifold and linkeages you might as well make up a throttle body. There are very good reasons why no-one makes cars (even in emissions free formulae) with carbs.

Thottle bodies will be alot easier to set up aswell.

would love to see someone actually do this as its not actually that hard to do just the setting up that needs to be bang on!

Guess Whiley means carb's. There was a 1242 16v sei with ITB way back in 2004 and are a few about now already

Em is on holiday atm....so memberships will be delayed abit.
Back on topic...I have just payed for a set of 33.5mm throttle bodies.
Engine is getting picked up saturday morn,probs in bits by sunday.
The flywheel will most likey be done before next week

Think TB-Sei's were 44mm? I'd imagine the smaller ones may be better, but no way to know unless comparing. What are they from?
