need help when i put my handbrake down the light still stays on is there any solution to this iv pushed it down to the max.

OK, add this post to the one about skeeky brakes and I'm guessing that the fluid is low because your pads are done.
How did the fluid level look on your last weekly check?

It's not a hyandbrake light! It's a brake warning light. It comes on when the handbrake is on and when the fluid in the brake reservoir is low.
First priority, get out there and check the level of the brake fluid (or you may die!): if tyhat's OK, get back to us.

ok calm down the brake fluid is fine.
possible faulty level sensor then.
Sensor stuck, frayed cable............

Shouldn't you be worrying more about your brake warning light? Kind of a bit of a weird tangent here

How do you use the tes facility
Have someone sit it the car and you press rubber button on top of brake reservoir cap. If the instrument pod brake warning light comes in then the warning system is fuctioning correctly. If it doesn't, either the reservoir sensor, wiring or warning bulb is faulty. Ideally you should check your brake fluid every week anyway and not rely on dodgy sensors...

well i had this problem with mine, i changed the front disks and pads and the light never returned again

When you put new pads in it pushes the caliper pistons back, which raises the level of fluid in the reservoir.

well i cant say my cars run through a red light because of brake failure?
what with the oh dear? i had them changed as i they started to squeel, one of the pads had completely worn down, after they were changed the light went off and the braking was much better?

The 'Oh dear' was for the fact that you didn't seem to conect the reason why the fluid suddenly reappeared.

it didnt reappear? as it didnt dissappear? the levels were fine...didnt mention levels ?
all i put on here was te fact that the lights went off after changing my brakes....they are still off now, if the fluid levels were low i would of noticed? and the lights would of come on now? 4 months after changing, i just put my experience of this problem up to see if it would be of benefit to the thread starter

It's just the attitude that gets me. You run the car till one of the pads is bare, then the warning light mysteriously goes out when you change the pads and disks!
To me it indicates a car that simply isn't maintained properly and an owner who doesn't care a lot for other people on the road or himself.
