Been working on my girlfriends car (Seicento 1.1 spoting 2000 model) over the weekend as it seems to not want to start. I had to change the radiator as well, due to the old one being miging and rotten, plus it had been loosing water over the last month or so.
Did that fine and thought while the bumper was off I'd change the oil and give it a once over to try and see why it doesnt want to go. Took the sump plug out and was greeted by a fountain of radiator water and oil. So baically the head has lifted and from what I gather its siezed up some where inside the block. I took a spark plug out (which are only 3 months old) and it was all rusty and covered inwater, confirming my worries that it was seized.
My questiion is, would it be cheaper to buy a new engine and fit that than try to get a garage to reserect the current one, as it could be numerous things that are gummed up or broken. Any ideas or advice would be welcome. Cheers, Al
