Is that the same for the Cinq 899's as well? And does that mean the car should warm up to operating temperature quickly before the thermostat opens? Mine is running cool and/ or takes ages to warm up but I'm changinging the thermostat as soon as it stops raining enough for me to work on it. Just wondering what the warming up characteristics should be like?

at what temperature would the fan be likely to cut in do you think?
I think last time i got my ecu read, the guy told me it was 90.

The thermo is the same as the spi, and the spi cinqs, and the 1.2 16v's etc. They are all the same

the 899 stat and sporting stat is completely different,
In a 899, the thermostat is built in the housing ... just won't fit a sporting spi.

I'm thinking that the reason my rad fan kicks in lots is that my thermostat might be opening much too soon....
Autodata lists 899cc & Sportings as both being 89degC
i'll got one in the garage, and got a stamp on it, i'll double check and update ya

if it opened too soon it wouldnt get hot enough

...could it be thermostat related then?
Can't seem to find any other reason why my rad would kick in as much as it does, other than the suggestion that my water pump might be a bit iffy...
It just bugs me how much my rad fan kicks in - i know it's only doing it's job, but my cinq never used to cut in like this... maybe about once a month if i was stuck in stop start traffic for say an hour (motorway tailbacks etc), but never round town.
The sei seems to have to have fan assistance quite a lot
