"The FIRE unit was available in 750, 999, and 1108 cc in a huge range of cars from Fiat/Lancia and at one time was the worlds most produced petrol engine. It was so clever because it was so simple and was a dream to sell cos it always worked! So much so Ford tried in vain for 5 years to buy the licence to have it for the then New Fiesta, hence why Ford kept putting the ancient old push rod in it and in the KA, cos they kept waiting thinking they would get it!

I tested a 1299cc version that was buit for evaluation to build a Cinqucento Super 1300cc Rally Car, but the idea was s****ped when the FIA just went for S1600. The S1300 Cinq had 16valve twin cam"

This is a quote of another forum (not Fiat) that i follow. Some interesting info hear or is it already common knowledge??

I understand that there was a Cinquecento "Kit Car" that was designed for rallys.

That ran a 1242cc MPi 16v FIRE unit, and was Twin Cam. I think it was very tuned too, running about 100BHp

Lamp pods

Spoke to my composite man tonight. There is no great problem with getting a copy done of mine. Two small problems though:-

1) Time, he is busy at the mo and couldn't look at the job until the end of the month, at the earliest.

and

2) Money, he would need to make a mould before making a unit so there are costs involved. What would be a reasonable price before i go and find out what he's talking about.

Cheers

D

Re: Lamp pods

Tis an interesting one... time is definately not of the essence (Its well off the bottom of my list- was really just by the by!!)

I presume the main costs are in tooling (setting up a mould), so unit prices would go down if more people were involved... I reckon there'd be some interest from the Cinqs+Seis list..

Would it hurt to get a vague costing? not too much skin being removed :D??
Cheers again though!
