hi just rang the insurance and it only incresed by 200 quid to turbo the 1.1 and there was no extra for using the 1242 so i am gonna do a 1242cc turbo conversion.
i have got all of the things i need: -
IHI turbo from 1.7td cavalier
machined aluminium plenum for SPi
stainless boost pipes

do i need a second injector and what about the fuel mapping and how will i get the 2nd injector to work?????

i love novas but its time for a change

The younger modder

You need some way to attach the turbo to the manifold, which I'm sure you have planned. You'll need a custom zorst too.

Van Aaken setups use an MF2 second injector controller. The low boost setup uses the standard ecu, but the high boost included a remap.

Pete - just read your post properly - I don't think all High Boost conversions included a remap as mine was mechanically altered as it proved to difficult for them to do it on the ECU - so they left it standard and altered everything through the MF2.

'k, cheers mate. Any ideas how the mechanical alteration was done? Thinking about altered crank pulleys... and upping the boost on my 1242 later too

Hmm. Its a Van Aaken Turbo.

I dunno if GSR had anything to do with it, apart from fitting them!

one thing though, the high boost included a superchip which was remapped, the reason they stopped providing the high boost is because they were using remapped (and cracked/hacked) superchips without permission and altering the code run on the superchip.

No it's really slow. Honest. You wouldn't want one. No, not fast at all. Dead slow in fact. Almost stationary. Ask DJ_Bucho.

That's not what I ment - just that in conversation with him about Turboing Cinq's it came up that the single injector can't really cope with the increased fuel load - And also GSR don't have anything to do with fitting the kits I don't think.

The chip is a standard Cinq one in the High Boost kit that I have - was never altered by Van Aaken - they tried but ended up doing the timing mechanically because they couldn't get it correct electronically.

My 1242 turbo's complete now, and it shifts. It's got about 20bhp less than Julio too!
