Guys n Gals, need some help...........Just brought my 16 yr old a Cinq on an L plate with 62,000 in great nick.
All works well, all MOT's etc. but for one minor gripe.

The heater blower doesn't work.
I only got the car yesterday so have no Haynes manual but the blower fan fuse is okay, yet when I slide the Fan control switch I get zilch, nuthing.

Do these have a fan control resistor?

If not how do I get to the Fan control?.............by first looks if I have to delve deep it's from inside the engine bay..........eeewww........Can anyone help?

Cheers in advance

hi im very new with working on the cinqs but when i was fitting a new gearbox i noticed a familiar resistor above the charcoal canister fitted to the front valance passenger side it looks identical to ones i have played with on fords so you could try there it should have a live in then 2or 3 lives out depending on the amount of speeds you have. iirc when you put it on full speed selection it bypasses the resistor so if no speeds are working id say a dodgy fuse or connection or wost motor gone. but im sure a more experienced cinq fixer upper will point you better

Well had a quick look see and got to the blower, turned the fan by hand, and planned the next assault. I then tried the switch, as you do, and lo and behold it works on setting 3 (fast) but only fast. Off to the dealer tomorrow for a fan resistor before I remove the whole unit, thanks guys...........I knew it would be fairly simple................need to get me a haynes
