I know a lot of people do the 1242cc engine swap into the Seicento - how much faster does that make the car?

And also - what is the biggest engine that would fit into the Sei engine bay without TOO much work? The bigger the better really :D

Funny you should say that mate - I'm meeting my mate in Teeside Park tomoro cos my Seicento is going down 40mm :D

Was also supposed to be fitting that K&N that was told would fit my Seicento (came off a Cinq) - but I'm guessing that the hole above the throttle body is different on phase 1 & 2 seicento's?? (the hole in the filter is about 5", where the hole on the engine is only about £3)

Easy as in, the engine has the same physical mounts on it, the wiring is the same, its just a wee bit taller, so all it needs is a spacer in the exhaust.

Ok, its not as easy as falling of a log, but its a whole heap easier than trying to fit a 16V unit in. See Andy Duff's piccies on yahoo.

Cheers

D

Grumpy old git going fast downhill rather than downhill fast!!

so really, if i was to put a sticker on each hose and wire in the engine bay to show where it went etc, I could "supposedly" do it myself?

would it require any tuning? as in timing or anything like that to get it to work with the gear box etc?

oh and does the engine go in from the top or out from underneith? haynes says to take it out from under the car but surely it would be easier to lift out on a crane thing (of which i dont own...)

for anything else apart from the 1242 you are looking at a hell of a lot of work and money if you dont want too much hasselbest to stick with the 1242 or if you want to go have a go ya can fit the 1.4 punto GT but to start with you need the engine gearbox drivshafts (meybe get them shortned or remade just had a quote for £240 for new ones up to 200bhp guarenteed) the ECu all door lock and barrel and keys inc red key!! you will need the full loom prob easier than using the old one and totally re-wiring everything if ya got the mk2 sei (MPI) a new dash as the mils wont work as the GT has the analogue mile thingy (maybe fit a SPI dash)custom manifold and zorst the GT cooling system aswell or and the brakes to make sure you stop
If ya need any info on it been doing uite a bit of research into it just pm or email me

isnt the punto GT engine also the Uno Turbo engine? I ask because I read a Road Test on the TopGear website for the GT and it said its the engine out of the Coupe. I always thought it was from the Uno.

Anyway, I also heard somewhere that all that needs changing to git an Uno Turbo engine is that the radiator needs moving forward so it can fit. probably wrong but its what i read somewhere.
