I need help with my 1994 basic cinquecento, why ever the fuel tank is over half full it runs ok , but anytime it is lower than halfway when i come to a junction and put my foot on the accelorator nothing !!!:mad: and then i have to pump the accelorator to get the engine revving , it even sometimes does it when driving along, bit of a fart and a splutter then it kicks in again, in my ignorance is it the fuel pump acting up ??? hope someone out there can help me

next time it happens remove the fuel filler cap. if that fixes the problem then you have a blocked ventilation valve for the fuel tank.

thought id reopen this thread instead of creating a new one
i got the same problem happens every now and again. normally when sat running on idle for a while once i restart the car it either ok for a few mins or is fine after
where are the ventilation valves also would it be worth getting a new fuel pump aswell????

Yeah I mean I only just noticed the pump is starting to make a wine noise that's why I'm replacing it plus its been doing it for a few years the problem is I carnt remember when it started because it came and went so i thought it was having a hissy fit lol think it might of started when I ran out of fuel and it wouldn't start so it got dragged to the garage and after 5 miles of being dragged it started think I may of sucked dirt up as the old tank was rotton and its been logged their
