hey guys,

had a problem arrise on my sei. Was driving along, hit a big puddle, and then shortly after flashed my full main beam and it knocked out my dipped beam so i only had side lights.

Checked all the fuses for dipped and main beams and they were fine, turned out it had blown the fuse for the stalks. Now if i use my main beam it blows this fuse and knocks off the dipped beam.

so what you guys recon? i would of thought that if water had got to the bulbs the bulbs individual fuses would of popped rather than the column fuse so seems strange to me! possibly stalk on its way out? seems very coincidental!

Check the bulbs..

hhmmm, I think there is a relay for main beam, and a seperate flasher relay. Not 100% and don't have time to look up atm sorry.

However, the relays for the lights are next to the fuses. There should be descriptions of what the relays do on the cover. IF there are separate main beam and flasher relays, pull out the main beam and put it in place of the flasher, if they are the same type. Them see if it blows a fuse. Don't put the flasher in the main beam slot, as if it is faulty, you'll just blow another :D

OK, now I understand. I think you refer to the headlamp flashing mechanism, rather than indicators.

When you put the full beam on by pushing the stalk away, the dipped beam goes off. When you pull the stalk towards you the main beams come on as well as the dipped, so this would lead to a possible cause as the bulb connectors, or the earth connection. Check both.

Cheers
