Well, just come in for dinner from working on the car all morning! Work done:

-New battery in (had to remove strut brace for that[xx(])
-Had to re-program the stereo all-over again
-T-Cut overspray from when I did the rubstrips the other week
-Searched the whole house for my Haynes manual. Gave up.
-Played with washers to make them both work properly. Found out it was the connectors. Rear washer wasn't pushed on far enough and front pushed on too far!
-Realised that sidelight bulb was rattling around inside the headlight fixture. Pulled the whole thing out and got the bulb out. Connected back up and realised it's actually a blown bulb!B)
-Glued the side repeaters on in the hope they actually hold this time
-Tried to fix noisy check strap...failed
-Tried to fix my dodgy bonnet latch...failed
-Found my Haynes manual on a dining room chair!

Very productive day but i'm knackered, and it's only dinnertime!

This is one very important one to fix if you can. Cracker had a dodgy catch and his bonnet flew up whilst he was on the motorway doing what he called an impressive speed. You don't want the bonnet catch to fail on you. And none of us want to see your car suffer any damage.......

it's not loose, entirely the opposite! It struggles to clip back without slamming it. Think it needs adjusting very slightly

Aha. The generally accepted way of (officially) closing car bonnets nowadays is to drop them from about 20-30cm - the old method of closing gently and then pushing down to 'click' it shut can apparently cause dents in the (nowadays very thin steel) bonnet.
At least, that seems to be the official line.......

nah, mine needs a good slam!

I've replaced the fuel filter now. I'd like to add that to the above list
