Hi,yesterday i put a new thermostat in my car as the old one packed in,but since i put this in the temp gauge still go's in red and the fan dont kick in.Ive blead the system about 3 times now and the fan still dont kick in plus ive checked fuses etc and all fine. But another thing thats weird is that my batt is not staying charged and i dont know why cause i put a brand new alternator on last month, ive noticed that when i drive in the night and rev passed 4000rpm the lights go brighter and plus my horn dont work and when i turn ignition on first click the batt light on dash is not on anymore.Would this all result in that my cars overheating cause not enough power to turn my water pump. Please can someone help as i want to sell the car which is a imola blue R reg Cinq Sporting.:)

Yes the fan does work and ive taken alternator off and put back all leads in right place ive also checked fuses and cleaned the batt terminals but still no oy.This as got to be the worst car i have ever bought cant wait to fix it and get rid of it.

Have you checked the battery voltage when the engine is running?
Also check the voltage after it has been left overnight without running the engine.

With the engine off you want to see around 12.6V (12.2V = a flat/dead battery). With the engine running you should see around 14V.
