(G) Help Fuel Leaking From Cinq 1996

Hi all,

Last week I was so proud and happy with my cinq who I just bought.
Now I was wondering why my car used 3/4 of the fueltank to drive 100km, thats not the usages of fuel I like to see from a cinq.

Today I discoverd while I was fuelling at the fuelstation that there was more fuel under the car then actually in the tank.

does more people have ever had this problem? can it be the fuel tube?

Please help this bad luck fiat driver

Can be the filler tube, can be the tank corroding around the seam. In the UK there was a recall for these a long time ago. Be prepared to fit a new tank.

are recalls still available for fixing if you cing has not yet been recalled ?

If you have the car since new and it hasn't had the recall, then possibly. I think the recall was done back in 1998 or thereabouts, so if you didn't have the car then it might have been done, and just be old age now.

I filled mine right up a few months ago and I discovered that there is an overflow which let outs out any surplus should you get carried away and top it up too much.

Eh, no. You have a pipe off. Get it sorted our your fuel will continue evaporate.

Give dealer vehicle details and ask if campaign is outstanding for fuel tank on your vehicle , still applicable!
