helloo peeps

I've got a new stereo coming for the Go Kart and was wondering how easy they are to fit? i know i need to disconnect the battery.

Or is there anyone near me in Bristol that is expert at fitting them and will do it for a tenner and Tea/Coffee on tap?

cheers

Yeah take it off and have a look to see what you need. Probably need an iso adapter loom. You may also have the problem of the constant power which can be resolved by taking power from the ignition or something that uses power from the ignition or have a HU with a detachable front.

well i've just had a look and i have two wires which come out of the existing stereo. I can take a photo if it helps.

My existing cassette player, plays without the ignition on. i like it that way because it means i can sit in the car and listen to the music without turning the key.

And this is the stereo i've ordered:

Right, all the cinq's stereos are like this from standard i.e no key required to turn on.

You need harness adaptor PC2-45-4 to fit an aftermarket stereo to the original wiring, IIRC the original wiring is a white and black block connectors.

Aerial adaptors should come with the HU, you'll need stereo removal keys to aid the fitment however.

unless you get a stereo like my new one, and things arn't so simple.

probably because its a jap manufatured stereo, it's left with bare wires, so its more a case of butchering it with choclate blocks as some people call them. but then with my stereo, there's a few more wires, lol.

brilliant, i'll have to wait for my neighbour to come back so he can disconnect the battery, if i blow my car up i'm coming straight back :D

cheers mate

That's also an easy one to do it's either a 10mm on one and a 13mm on the other iirc although i never actually disconnected mine except when taking the engine out

the backs are different :(
