ARGH

for the past few weeks my exhaust has been makin a weird rattle noise under the passengers footwell whne i reverse and no my car sounds like an aircraft when i am just goin along i think it is a hole in my exhaust! the faster i go the louder i get grrrr!

i am goin to the exhaust place 2moro to have it check over and priced up yet more money!

Has anyone lese had this problem?

Dunno if this will help but my car use 2 make this really s***ty rattly noise found oit it was the cat converter heatshield got it welded up for £15 by exhaust place. Cud b 1 reason 4 ur noise

Right just got back from the exhaust company and there are no leaks on the exhaust anywhere [?]!

so the next question is what can the noise be???
i will havw to read up in haynes manual 2 see if that helps.

I had the same problem like joanna83 on my Uno, teribble rattling noise and the faster I was going the worse it got, I found out it was the cat heat shield, it fell off, so I put it back on with lots and lots of jubilee clips cost about £5 to do

Also could it be something inside the exhaust, or something up against it, I will have a look under my sei tonite, (u have got a sei haven't u) and try and see if there is anything up tight against it

There's always the heatshields attached to the car, check see if they are loose. Worst possible scenario is shattered cat internals.

On the other hand, reading it again it sounds like your rear engine/gearbox mount might be shot. This wil cause the exhaust to sit on the anti roll bar when you accelerate - I know as it happened to me and it sounds bloody awful! It doesn't actually cause the engine to fall out, but the mount 'drops'. 'Bout 12 quid for the bits.
