Reduces knock (pre-detonation) of fuel and also lowers temperatures, hence being able to run higher boost and compression.

Will it not idle lower? Do you have any idle managment at all?

Looking good though I'd love a video of seeing the MegaTune when playing with the throttle.

If you have no cat, you can also lean it out a bit to reduce the emissions. Pop the map on outside the test centre lol

i have no idle management atm, no. i need to go shopping. need a PWM idle solenoid and a knock sensor.

idle is now around 700/800rpm. i've disabled aceleration enrichment as it was casuing th pw to spike, and nearly stall the engine.

however, with it disabled and the engine cold - i blipped the throttle and it stopped lol.

wow, on the second video, it seems to go very lean! 19+ afr?! Maybe thats the norm when under acceleration, I haven't really messed too much and still haven't fitted my lc1, but should it be going that high? If it is, the knock is def worth it lol

I MAY have a spare knock you can have for P+P if intereseted? can check tomo if its still in my bag of bits for you.....no idle goodies for ya though.

I am going to fit a different TB to mine that has an idle valve incorporated, hopefully pick up a nice sized one and make an adapter plate.

Altogether though, coming on nicely.....im still building mine lol, but all this is making me eager to get it set up

if its a bosch knock sensor, yup i'm after one of them. ta.

it does run lean when i blipped the throttle there. ive disabled the acceleration enrichment until i understand exactly what it's doing. am still not driving it - or anything.

was just stabilising the idle there.

well, i drove her for the first time in nearly 10months earlier today. she needs refining - but, drives.

you can see here where i exited the drive, highlighted with some photoshop skillz



quick trip down the road to check everything is working. no full throttle or arseing about yet.

it needs new tyres, needs spacers machining down (currently running 14's on the front and 13's on the back), it needs the map sorting out, arch liners put back in, and the centre section replaced - wanna get the bulk of it done on saturday

I want a smashed up Cinq Sporting so I can convert my Soleil to Sporting spec

natural idle test - passed.
fast idle, failed on all counts. too much co, too many hc, and lambda reading too high.

me finks it was a bit rich at 2500 rpm. it begin to miss ever so slightly after a while being held there. does not do it when driving though. time to adjust the fuel map a bit!

second emissions test today, passed all aside from fast idle lambda, it was 0.03 too high. easy to fix, just add an ickle bit more fuel.

tracking done.

booked in for a full MOT on monday morning.
