I know there's loads of threads about 1242cc conversions and that it's basically quite an easy job, tools and facilities permitting.
What I wondered was if anyone knows whether the gearbox from a current shape 2002 Punto is the same casing as the Cinq gearbox and would therefore fit too?
I've got the chance to but a 16K engine and box for £250-ish and believe that the box would have higher gear ratios than the Cinq one so would keep the engine less busy and utilise the torque. Apart from that my gearbox is getting s**te anyway! It would be nice if the engine and box both basically slotted in
