New to looking under bonnets. Bought a Cinq Sporting about 7 months ago, apart from a new clutch and requiring new headlamps to be fitted to pass MOT the car is very popular. Current problem is after car came back from having new headlamps fitted the electric windows don't work, I checked 7.5amp fuse (LHS of box below relay), fuse is fine, I popped off door panel and used multimeter to test wires to window electrics, no power is getting this far. I plugged multimeter into the fuse slot, no power here either, I can see purple and white wires going up to deep behind the dash, I've got an owners manual on order, any suggestions before I take the whole dash out - is there a connection point under the bonnet somewhere, should I be looking under the battery? Any help much appreciated. Stig (& Lou)

The loom is in sections, each multi plugged together. The switches, if i remember correctly actually plug into the loom only a short distance behind their position on the dash.

Cheers

Grumpy old git going fast downhill rather than downhill fast!!

Thanks, I'll take another quick look today and try and trace back any power. The manual I ordered has apparently been dispatched so I'll give it a read before posting here again.

Traced wires/loom back to door hinge (screw pannel), no power here either (as expected). Popped off elec wind switches, no power coming to these either. Took off the front of the dash (easier than I thought) and I can see the loom climbing up to a tight bundle of wires deeper in the back of the dash. Branching off the loom as it climbs is a short multiplug, this is not plugged into anything, I could not see anything to plug it into.
I'm still waiting delivery of the manual before I either take off the whole inside front of the car, or start looking under the bonnet for where the loom(s) pass through.
One thing for sure is it's getting too hot to drive around with the windows stuck fully up. [xx(]

Hi I too have a cinq, and my windows do not work either i have same problem as you but my passenger window is halfway down. Have you found the problem yet? i cant seem to find the fuse or relay.!?

look at the passenger side of the dashboard, just underneath it near the door. there is a load of wires, remove the big screw to remove the plastic panel - should be able to see the fuse and relays then.
