Hi there,

After being in the garage for two weeks to have a new speedo cable fixed, there is now another problem.

Got 1st part off shop4parts.co.uk and 2nd part from Fiat (Item: 7698252). Now today's problem is.... both ends (one end of each cable where they join) have the same connectors!!!

There is a picture of the 2nd part/connector in the engine here:

So, is there such a thing that connects the two?

Or seek out a completely new part! :bang:

that end should go in the back off the speedo if im seeing it correctly
both mine had 1 piece cables so ive never seen the 2 part connector IIRC

got pics of the 2 full parts?

Both ends of the cables have that white connector and the other end has a metal screw thingy, its hard to explain.

However both cables have the same connectors, and the 1st part isn't long enough (garage said) to be used by itself.

right well it looks like whomever you got the 2nd part off(going into the speedo binnacle) has given you the wrong part if they dont mate

There are 4 part No's for No1,2 and 3 for 6.
The 2 white bits usually plug together.

Thanks, looks like I have got either the wrong first bit or the second bit!

I spoke to Fiat, the part i need is out of stock, they recommended the one piece one for the 1108cc Cinq, part number: 46463755

I think it is normal to replace the 2-piece cable with the later 1-piece cable.

That is what I had to do on my 899 recently.

The metal screw on one to the gearbox and the funny white plastic slide-clip on connection to the speedo.
