right, it's all going well so far.

the bonnet's done, the rear arches are done.

to do next week, front arches and front bumper, then week after rear bumper and boot, then it'll be ready for paint!! whoo hoo!!!





in this pic, you'll see where i've found an easier way of smoothing the bumpers, rather than removing the strip completely and having to fill a trench!

What size spacers are you using?? those wheels look nice and flush

mate u wanna remove them strips out of the bumper i know it means u gotta fill a bigger gap but that strip has got movement in it and the filler will split mate ! fill the trench with fibreglass paste and smooth it off completely go over a second time if necessary which you probably will once it is smooth and theres no proud fibreglass go over it about an inch over the top of where the strip was and about an inch under with fibreglass and then use stopper paste if you take your time you will get a better finish without splits or cracks

they 32mm spacers, but because i've lowered it, it scrubs a bit, so going to have to downsize the spacers i think. 10mm spacers on the front.

looking good mate - did you do the arches yourself? - have you got any in progress pics?

this is one of the front arches, just hammered out at this point, with a little primer to stop rust before i put filler on.

how sharp are the edges??? or did you leave a little lip

remove the bump strips as it will crack deffinately. best way to fill that big reccess is a 50/50 mixture of fibreglass and filler, you get the filling propertys of filler and the strength of fibreglass. like the bonnet mate different! you smoothing the grill or keeping it standard?

no, no sharp edges, nothing has been cut. you just bend the inward lip up and the rest of it out. i'll show you when i do a full guide on friday night.
plus when the filler is on, it thickens it up slightly anyway.

also debating how to paint it again. lol. i dont want it red, too common a colour. plus it goes pink if you not carefull. i have thought about yellow, but again, i want something different. but keeping it with a euro look.

dark metallic red (not much of a change but wont fade as much) or if your going to strip the whole car then maybe peugeot blue/silver or Alfa bluey/green pearl :yum:

if you will be painting whole car.....than you must do the clean bumpers and dors without look, same last dors (no look and wiper)....

if you will be painting already whole car....

that you wont be sorry after becuase you didnt make this at once

i was actually thinking ford screaming yellow. i know its not much different for other yellow cinqs, but its a bit more of a brighter, stronger colour.
