Does it happen at 2000 revs?

They all have a flatspot which is remedied by a mckrich chip form here.

That is if this is the problem

Thanks for the replies.
It has just been serviced by me!?

It has just passed the MOT.
I know about the flat spot..this is not that, this is adead spot.
A few weeks ago the fuel pipe broke and for a few miles until I diagnosed it , it was kangarooing like mad.
I think it might be dirt in the injector but what do I know?

Any further ideas?

also a defective lambda switching from closed to open loop can cause this, however light throttle suggests its not that as it wouldnt switch. does it do it from cold?

ok, when its cold the ECU is in open loop mode and ignoring the lambda - so can pretty much rule that out.

Thanks for that.
I am glad there are other sufferers on this thread now...not that I want you to suffer.
My prob IS when cold or hot equally and very low in the rev range.
Glad you think it's not lambda as just replaced due to age and two wires hanging off.
I was worried that the connections were bad although it has always had an extra wire to earth from previous owner.
