We've got a Fiat Cinquecento with about 72000 miles on the clock. Just recently, the oil pressure warning gauge has started to come on after twenty minutes or half an hour's driving. The warning light goes out if the engine is revved a bit but this 'solution' don't work too well if you're stuck in an inner city traffic jam, as we quite often are.
The owner handbook says that it's OK if the light comes on after a long drive under heavy load conditions. But neither of these circumstances are applicable here.
The oil pressure switch has been changed, also the oil and the filter, but the problem still shows up. The pump appears to be working OK since the warning light goes out when the engine is revved a bit so I'm stuck for an answer.
Could you Fiat experts provide some advice as to what the problem might be and how to solve it?
Grazie mille!
