Would/Could/Should this be done? Think it would "do" much??...I'm
pretty sure that it wouldn't interfere with the Van Aaken Turbo's
parts at all and would just let more fuel air mix in?? Just
wondering really seeing as it looks like a 1242 T.B is only 'bout
£50 and my engine is in bits at the mo. Working on the theory
however that it wouldn't mess up fueling from second injector?
Cheers,
Matt

Also - may sound like another daft question but what are the
advantages of a Novitech Extended 5th gear? How does it work+how the
hell would you change it?!?! And could the extended 5th gear be used
in a 6 speed box, as a replacement 6th gear, from the Punto - so as
too not loose ALL top end and keep acceleration??? :)
Thanks!

Hi,

as bigger trottle body should not be a problem. Someone I spoke to had (over time) different ones in 32mm from Punto 60 or 38mm from the Punto 75 and even bigger ones (don't ask me).

A longer 5th gear ..... you just exchange the 5th stock gearwheels for the Novitec bits. Not too big of a job. But you can buy the 5th gearwheels from a Seicento Suite which are 8% longer than the Sporting ones should be way cheaper ;)))
If they fit into the Punto 6 Speed box???
Novitec offers a 6Speed conversion for the Cinque/Sei Gearbox. 1-4 as stock 5th 10% shorter and 6th 10% longer. If you have too much money.

BTW what size of wheels are you driving? If you i.e. change from 175/50-13 to 195/45-14 you are making all gears app. 8% longer

Cheers!
Was just wondering about the 6 speed box 'cos I've got one in a standard car - but have heard that putting it in a higher powered car makes it horrible to drive at motorway speeds. I intend to get some bigger wheels when I have the cash!!
Thanks again for the reply,
Matt

a lad at my work say the new shape punto (188) sporting with the 6-speed box fits the 60 and 75 engine! Dno wot it does to accel and top whck tho:)

Wen in the toon slow it down, out it the sticks give it the licks!

I thought the Punto 75 was MPI. If this is the case you won't get a throttle body (correct me if I'm wrong). Thats how it gets the extra horses...with a little extra compression as well I think.

I should imagine they did MPI and SPI - Fiat have a thing for making lots of the same type of engine!

Hi,

with the SPI and MPI the Throttle body is exchangable (with a little adjustement work see http://www.carsfromitaly.goracer.de/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=34735&boardid=53&styleid=3 )
The diffenece SPI is that the injection valve is right on top of the throttle body as with the MPI the injection valves are afterwards.

Hmmmm, interesting. I've got a punto 75 lump in my garage and it has a totally different intake with no throttle body at all. In fact it has 4 injectors if I remember. I've compared the stud patterns of the inlet manifold and they are a straight swap.
