i have e-maild piper cams a few months ago enquiring about uprated cams. they said they can repro a normal cam to fast road spec for 107 quid is this worth it or not i thought that it seemed quite cheap for such an important part.

basicly i think that they ment that it woz to correct an untrue cam say for example you had a cam that was damaged, thney would fix it using accurate machines.

to uprate a cam you would have to extend the lip as to keep the valves open for longer, which i can not say i have ever hurd of being done to anycam.

double check with them and see exactly what it entails.

if it is to make existing cams into road cams then try it for just over 100 pound you cant really complain for that bit of extra

It is about the right price for a reprofiled cam. It does as it says on the tin and is OK for a faster road cam.

Proper billet cams are about three times that price.

Grumpy old git going fast downhill rather than downhill fast!!

Yeah 100quid for a reprofiled one sounds normal.
If the cam opens around 280degrees you still should be fine in everydays life (of cause you will loose power below 3k).

The cheap alternative is a cam out of a punto 75 1242ccm (and if you find one steal the throttle body too it can made to fit and is 38mm) which is supposely the cam novitec sells as performance cam.
It is hotter than stock but still very good for stop and go traffic.
