I have just recently brought a 2002 Seicento Sporting with 35000 miles on the clock. The cam belt has not been changed it says in the hand book it should be at 72000 miles or 5 years which ever comes first what's your view should it be changed?

If It needs to be done I am not going to do it my self how much should it cost in a garage. And could any one recommend a good garage/mechanic in the
Uxbridge area Middlesex

(Thanks Paul P )

I would change it as you are at your 5 years just about despite the mileage, unless service history says otherwise and points to a change

I changed mine at 36k and 65k despite being nowhere near fiats recommended figures in the book

While you are changing belts you may as well do the waterpump at the same time

Prices, the parts itself arent too bad to buy the labour bumps the cost up. It cost me about 50 quid to get mine + waterpump done but i know a few people in the trade so got it done a bit cheaper that your average joe, i dont think it would cost more than £100 unless someone can tell the answer for sure?

Cant make a recommendation on a place unfortuneatlky, independents are cheaper than dealers, maybe best to ring round a few local companies in yellow pages etc
