hub thingy

does the guide pin thingy tha is built into the hub have to stay there when fting spacers. or can i jsut lop them off cos the fiat specific spacers i intened to puchase do not come with the guide holes??

Re: hub thingy

By all means remove it (it unbolts: don't lop it off, you vandal ;) ). If you're doing to a stud conversion, that's it. If not, it's very worthwhile drilling the locating holes in the spacer and finding a bolt or two to hold the spacer on else it'll fall off every time you remove the wheel and be a swine to re-locate. A good few Alfas use locating pins with longer threads, which suit very well.

Re: hub thingy

you have the locating pin one side and a small bolt the opposite side of the disc.

They help align the wheel (usefull as they can be a pain).

They also hold the disk onto the hub.....this isn't important when running the car, as it will be sandwiched by the wheel bolts between the hub and wheel.

If you run without both of them though, as mentioned, the spacer, if its generic, will keep falling off, and refitting the wheel will be a royal pita. It also leaves room for the spaver to be secured off centre, introducing unbalanced wheels. If the disc isn't corroded onto the hub, if tyou ever remove the calliper, you may find your disc crashing onto the floor/yourfoot.

I'd drill small holes to fit both the alignment peg and the bolt.

What size are they though? Hubcentric are better, adn FIAT do a nice 10mm set for not much ££.

right i know ive started another thread. but this time ill chuck three questions in one thread. lol. . right. so 1st, do the guide pin thingys on the sei hubs have to be there or can i just lop them off cos its awkward to find large spacers with the guide hole. 2nd, how do i remove the center dash out of a sei cos im fiting fog lights. and finally 3rd, how do i remove the rear panels so i can find out about speakers. any help as usual will be much appreciated. thanks. x

1st one ive answered so why are you asking again?

2nd one there are allen screws, onew of which is hidden behind the centee heater knob IIRC
3rd if they are like a cinq they just pull off

edit: ive just checked some of your other posts and note its not the 1st time you have multiple posted on the same questions.

i was only looking for about 10mm aswell. how much are those fiat ones and where can i get them?? thanks help is appreciated.

The wheel bolt to stud conversions, If these are what you mean (as fitted with the Abarth wheels) from FIAT, are about £65 each and you need FOUR.
