my car (in red) has faded a little - my number 1 off the 16v badge fell off the other week and you can see where it used to be just bacause of the colour diffrece (you can only see if you look hard) you can also tell around the plastic petrol cap

do you know anything i can try to get it back to the original colour that the car was?

(my car is only 2 years and 10 months old!!!)

Thanks!

Try a good quality cleaner polish such as step 1 from the meguiars 3 step, then finsih with steps 2 and 3 to seal and protect your paint. A good coat of polish should slow down the oxidation you get on red paint, have you not polished your car regularly?

If the megs does not work, try some thing more severe like T-cut, but i personaly think T-cut is too harsh for modern paint finishes, so I would onlyuse it as a last resort.

G3 Polishing compound costs about a tenner and you will need to use water from a garden spray to keep it going. its what the experts use. its not T-Cut its real polishing compound. then a good coat of real wax not that crud you get in a squerty bottle from tescos.

Without trying to sound biased, I can recommend Supagard paint sealant, which will stop a vehicles paintwork from discolouring. Fiat and Alfa tested and approved this product as their only approved paint protection product a few years ago. As an uno turbo owner and uno race competitor, I use it on both cars, and it eliminates the need for polishing, (although you can use the non abrasive paintseal cream periodically if you wish) as well as protecting it from fading! I look after North Yorkshire/Humberside area, but if anyone wants their car treating, I could put you in touch with your local agent who can arrange a Supagard authorised mobile valeter to treat your pride and joy, at reduced price of course for fiat owners!! Any advice I can give, give us a tinkle on 07818 043178, Chris
