Daniel son! Wax on... wax off. ;)

i heard that the tyre blackener can make your tyres slip easier is that true

1. Wet car all over ( hosepipe ban , Bah ! )

2. Turtle wax shampoo in warm water & Sponge !!, start on the roof then the water poors onto the rest of the car ,then moving round the car .

3. Wheels last and arches with a soft hand brush ( dont use the sponge, due to the grit off the wheels )

4. Rinse with strong jet from the hose

5. Before it dries , use a shammy ( or chamois , if your posh ! ) dry the car , roof first , due to gravity etc..clean the windows inside and out with squirty glass cleaner ( one with vinegar is best ) using kitchen roll.

6. Then once a month turtle wax the whole car , and just as your arms are dropping off , take a photo of the car and post on FIATFORUM.COM

Thats how i do it anyway ! :D fiat_1_1.jpg

You mean you don't use scouring powder like VIM as well? :shakehead:

:p

I find scouring pads most ineffective. Use steel wool followed by a blowtorch instead, gives a much better finish :D

7. Then park your wheels so near a kerb as to scuff them when you pull away :D

the secret ingredient is tender loving care, if you love your car it'll stay clean and shiney. my girlfriend gets jealous because i love our cars too much and too often. they get thoroughly cleaned inside and out at least once a week. it feels so good.

if you want a long lasting shine use colour t-cut all over to remove scratches and any imperfections, then a carnauba based wax, then use autoglym finishing fluid (paint sealant). that'll have it showroom shiney for months. plus every clean after that will take 10 mins, the dirt just rinses off, and even better when it rains the water runs straight off the car leaving it dry and clean.

dont forget to wax the windows (y)

T cut is very poor as a scratch remover, the abrasives don't breakdown in size and often inflict micromarring. For scratch removal, Scratch X is much better by hand, the abrasives breakdown properly and give a better finish without marring the paintwork.

Also, sealant should come before wax.

i agree scratchX is better than t-cut, and t-cut does create millions of hairline scratches if you use the original stuff. but colour t-cut is less than half as abrasive and mostly just coloured polish. its gentle enough to use all the time, if you have a good cloth and a gentle smooth motion colour t-cut doesnt mark the paintwork at all. all my cars have been done many times and even in direct sunlight there's no scratches.

according to the bottle of autoglym sealant it says apply after a wax or polish to make the shine last longer. i tried it before the wax the first time i used it, then i read the label and it says apply after a wax or polish. i've found it does make the wax last longer, a good few weeks longer.
