Is there anywhere near Gravesend Kent that can remove a broken stuck glow plug from number 1.

It’s a 2014 1.6

I can’t afford an engine strip down for a garage and heard some places can use a special tool

Does it still run?

If so.. then I would not rush into a repair

Will start fine on the other 3.. and you can drive anywhere for a repair if deemed necessary

Out of interest.. was it you who broke it.. how much preparation had you done ?

No I didn’t do it. It was booked it at an independent garage to diagnose which plugs were faulty, turns out 2 & 3 needed to be changed. So the garage bought all 4 and set about replacing them all.

He done number 2 first fine. Then started number 1. He said it was all going well then it snapped. He had heated the van first and lubricated as much as he could.

He hasn’t attempted 3 and 4 as he is worried about them snapping off.

He told me to take the van and drive it and hopefully it will pop out. However other people have said that the plug could pop out and fall elsewhere and cause damage.

He is hoping a friend has the tool if not he will have to strip the engine costing £100s

There a firm called uk injector and glow plug removal on Facebook that specialises in this
Don't know what they charge however but worth a message
They have been well reviewed

All glow plug been replaced now.

I had to have 3 drilled out. £500 in total

Thanks for updating this..

On the older motors access was good enough you could work release agent in over a week or so..

But the hidden stuff does leave plenty of room for problems

I took my car to a garage on the Isle of Sheppey. CH Services. He got 3 & 4 drilled. £300

The other mobile guy was called MotorTech and he was £200 for number 1 but said he wouldn’t attempt 3 & 4 because access. Whereas the Sheppey garage sorted it for me.
