I am a DIY type person and I recently purchased a tool for checking the oil on the tranmission...basically a graduated rod. I have no information in what the level should read on my 2012 Fiat 500. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi. :)

Conventional automatics used to have a 'dipstick'.. like the engine has

The 500 uses a sealed 5 speed conventional fixed ratio gearbox.
The side mounted filler plug doubles as the level plug.. you fill it until fluid dribbles out. ;)

The ' robot' side of the gearchange system is controlled by light oil in a clear plastic tank ( similar to a screenwash tank)

Does that make sense..
