The usual story with used cars: damaged upholstery. In my case it's the driving wheel leather having a coarse spot at the top side, very much visible and irritating. What can be done?

Thanks! I'll try to find similar leather care products in our local stores, because I don't live in the UK and experimenting with products shipped from there would be costly for me.

You may want to consider going to some of your local leather or car upholstery shop and seeing what their estimates or recommendations are. The problem you are describing should not be that expensive to fix.

Did you ever end up finding a solution?

I was unable to find a specialized local shop so far. Still looking.

Are you sure it's a leather wheel?
From the picture it looks rather more like a rubber/plastic kind

It has to be. It feels like leather on touch, and it has stitches and everything. Also, the specifications say "Premium Wrapped Steering Wheel" and I imagine that should mean leather-wrapped.

Here's the photo of the whole wheel. Maybe it will represent the material better.

I use products from Mother's and they have always been great to me. Also there is a company called Furniture Clinic that have local agents which will help you so that you can buy the right stuff or get them to sort it out for you. They do leather sofa repairs etc and they are on Facebook etc.

I'm too afraid to make it worse, so I would prefer it to be handled by professionals.

Anyway, so far I was able to find only these guys locally:

http://www.odos-restauravimas.lt/vair371-aptraukimas-atnaujinimas-galerija.html

Their website is basically just a series of galleries, lacking any detailed verbal information, but judging by the photos they might be able to help. According to their "about" page, restoring car leather interior is their main line of work.

I would then go and speak with the local leather sofa seller/shop. They will have a phone number for a repair agent they will use for customer service problems. If the repair agent can see the problem, then I am sure that they will either fix or explain how to fix the problem.

So I finally went to this auto leather repair shop I found nearby and they said that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can be done about my problem. Bummer!
