(like when currys try to sell you tungsten carbide gold plated HDMI cables for your new tv for hundreds of pounds 'cause they are much better') .. anyway - from people I know that have this stuff applied to their cars, dont they get some kind of certificate or 'something' ? as proof that somethings been done ? my @ss hole dealer gave me 'free' paint protection (cant remember what he said it was called ... a+ ? a4x ? ) after I was shoddily dealt with through the course of my new car purchase. his only 'proof' that this was done was "just feel that" ... getting me to feel how silky smooth the paint was ... I though "yeah its been washed and waxed" .. I have no other evidence anything was ever done - I kinda never wanted that rubbish in the first place, but its the principle that counts.

If they do it properly that is, I used to buy used Autoglym kits from a dealer for £5 that had some of the products used, if any!!

I do enough car cleaning to know that something had been applied to the paint, as it was silky smooth to touch and any water did not just bubble, it sheeted and ran straight off. There was also a sticker on the windscreen (that ironically has not survived and it crinkled up till it fell off) and a pack of various sprays. Ten months later and I have washed the car for the first time in a month, after two long journeys in the wet and the dirt just falls off the car. Having been sceptical about paint protection, but seen my father's car that came with it a few years ago and now mine, if done properly, I think it works.
