Hi,

I am looking for a way to clean the paint on my car. Today, I quickly washed my car (was the worst thing ever when the temperate is near 0), and I found that the paint of the car is stained. There are also some tiny dots on the car, where they can be removed if i scratch it off with a cloth. The shampoo didn't get rid of any of them.

What would be the best way to clean the car? After the wash what would I do? Whats the best order to clean and protect? I don't have a clue what all the products on the shelves do

I would imagine T-Cut, a very finely abrasive cutting compound, would get rid of the dots and hopefully any staining. Just dab some onto a damp rag, press firmly and move around in random directions. You should find the rag goes white as the compound cuts back the paint. If not then you may have lacquer on top of the paint, be careful not to cut through it. Have a read through a couple of guides first (google time).
Be careful not to get t-cut onto door/window rubbers or black trim, it can be a bugger to get off.
When you're done wash the car with warm water and car shampoo. Remember elbow grease and lots of rinsing.
Use your polish of choice when the car is totally dry. Maybe colour magic if you're trying to balance paint up. Buy nice soft cloths for both processes not whatever old tat you have lurking round the house.
Have fun :)
Matt.

Sounds like road tar to me . Get some of autobrites just the tonic tar remover. Wash car spray it on leave it to dwell then wipe of with a microfiber. After contaminants have been removed follow up with Autoglym's super resin polish and the Autoglym's Hd wax (the wax and polish will make it easier to clean next time)

Thanks guys, Ill give these a go and come back if i get stuck anywhere

Just a heads up, I bought some T Cut colour restorer and ive never seen my car this white in my life. The finish is amazing!!

What is the best way to clean around the black trim? I find that I keep touching it and getting the black onto the body. Any tips on how to clean proper close to the trim?

Mask up the trim.

you dont need elbow grease with an electric buffer , i can properly t-cut and polish the whole of my multipla in less than an hour :D

If you're doing it in that speed with a rotary then you're either not doing it properly, or the body work isn't bad enough to need it, and if the latter and you're doing it too often you can cause more long term half than good :(

just once everyfew weeks orso and it doesnt spin at that high rpm's , when i got it i thought it may be faulty and it comes with a few polish mops one of which is like sheeps wool
