Headlight Restoration

After researching tricks of the trade tried the toothpaste method which initially seemed to work before the plastic covers clouded over again.
Since buying my 03 Punto Sporting a month ago haven't been able to drive it at night.
I've just had a guy called Steve from Auto Brights come out and in an hour had them all sorted. If you're fortunate enough to live in Sussex/ Kent then give him a call- you will find him via Google.

Re: Headlight Restoration

there was a very similar thred (with pics) of a punto 2B last week,
that outfit were portsmouth based,
as so many modern cars have plastic covers/ lenses,
there are probably repair companies in MOST areas,

was it @ 30 per lamp..??,

Re: Headlight Restoration

Plastic headlight "restoration" depends on the type of corrosion. If it's UV deterioration than you can polish it up but be sure to get some protective film on there as it only temporary and you'll need to do it every few months. If it's lack of cleaning, acid bug spatter and pollution you can clean it and use wet and dry to get a key before evening it out with a head gun. Again use a protective film after.

Re: Headlight Restoration

I had yellow opaque lamps on my daughters Micra. Chrome polish from Halfords and my rotary polisher had them both back to sparklling bright in about 1 hour for about 3. I would NOT want to do this polishing by hand though!

Re: Headlight Restoration

I had really bad headlights on my old Astra, it got a warning on the MOT. I used the Turtle wax kit which I got off eBay for about 10. I would say there was a 35-40% improvement
