I was mortified to find a dent on the Bravo's bonnet when exiting Tesco this morning. Haven't a clue how its occurred, especially as its right near the screen.

Looks like someone has either rested something on it (which I doubt due to location) or something has bounced off of it (although I wasn't near any trees etc).

Do we think chips away etc will be able to sort it for a reasonable price?

if you can get hold of you local chips away mans mobile number it can often work out cheaper than if you book via the main number. as they tend to charge per panel rather than per dent

He called me, looking at the car in about 10min at work (work around the corner from where he lives by chance), so will be interesting to see what price he says.

What would you expect, any Idea Dave? I'm mentally thinking £55-60, not sure if this is in the ball park figure.

Sorry to hear of this Jon, it's a shame to see such damage on a your lovely car (n)

Hope a body shop can do you a great job without you needing to sell off your limbs !

PDR only works where they can access the panel - if the dent is near to a support bar or where an inner skin join an outer skin, its bodyshop time. if its in the centre of a panel with no hindrance on the back youre OK. i had this confirmed with a crease in my bonnet. rather stupidly i was working on the car, removed the large cone air filter and placed in where the wiper arms are on that scuttle panel. went inside for a quick coffee and the wind had lifted the bonnet off its stay and it slammed down onto the filter. not a scratch to the filter but a crease on the top edge of the bonnet about 4 inches long. Thankfully it didnt crack the paint so remains largely invisible. PDR man said it was a bodyshop job.and why couldnt the filter have been smashed to smithereens instead of my bonnet being creased - it never works like that does it......

I hate these mystery dents or scratches that appear though - you look after your car then think how the hell has that got there?

I also hate parking a million miles away from everyone else in Tesco or Asda etc even for just 5 minutes then you come outside to find somebody has chosen to park right next to you:bang:.
I never leave without giving the car a quick check. Why do they do that ?

That sucks, was there nothing on dashcam?

Ignition switched :(

Now looking at changing that and setting up a time delay shut off on it.

Will try a few other places but am not holding up hope, can sort of access it from behind if you go through the slits in the bonnet frame under the bonnet.

Failing that I'll have a good look out of a used bonnet in the same colour from a scrappy, but that's unlikely to turn up anytime soon I suspect :(

Your right but it's worth asking anyway. I'm no expert at pdr but have seen it done many times. There's a chance a small hole could be drilled in the support of the bonnet, as there usually hollow, and the dent pushing tools could be inserted through it. I've seen this done mainly on doors but it could work. It depends on the experience and talent of the pdr guy .

If you're right holes wouldnt even need to be drilled, as there is a long slit in the bonnet support you can get a small finger though. Will have to investigate it some more.

Pdr tools are small, if you can fit a finger then they should easily fit. Look for a second opinion from a reputable company. They would have ago at least. Shame your so far away from me as we could have sorted something out!

I had one of the PDR guys look at my bonnent after a numberplate damaged it and I had to get chips away round. He was very good and as stated above he ended up drilling a small hole in the support of the bonnet and poking the tool through that. Painted right colour black and rubber cap on it afterwards as well, as I had a chips away spray as well.

Ask a few different people and see what they say.

Just found a small dent in NSR wing but it is a sharp dent which means the metal has stretched so dent removal company not an option. Also, paint has been scratched off so unless I want the whole wing repainting which means new Abarth stripes as well I'll just have to touch it up for now.

I feel your pain. I'm just lucky that no paint has come off - still annoying though :(

Cheers Jon, it happened at exactly the same time as a Waitrose delivery van backed into the front of the car in their staff car park. Luckily, they have accepted liability for that and the car is booked in on 10th Dec for new front bumper, grilles, fog light and lower lip moulding to be fitted. Shame the car won't be in it's usual "pristine" condition for our FF Xmas meeting (Southern) on the 01/12/2013.
