Just wondering if there is a way to stop leather steering going shiny. Keep it soft and matt

Mum keeps her leather suite matt and plush by using soapy water then leather care. Would this work on the steering wheel & gear knob? ie anyone tried and got the results above. Cheers

It is grime that makes the leather shiney - clean it gently wish a purpose cleaner but DO NOT use a "conditioner" as the oils they contain will only bring back the shine in the leather.

We use Lord Sheraton leather wipes on our sofa so tried them on leather steering wheel. They are great and remove the crime and care for leather. £2.99 from Tesco etc.

Spend a bit more and buy the Zymol leather cleaner - It is readily available in Halfords, but don't be tempted by any form of conditioner - including "wipes" as all they will do is smear oil everywhere to increase the "shine"!
