It depends on the clay bar BH clay is formulated with the surfactents / lubricants to not need lube.....

any other need a lube however a few drops of bog standard car shampoo will usually suffice...

((just dont go using it with Bilt hamber stuff)

Just to make a point you get lots of pics on the detailing websites showing people holding really grubby lumps of clay

eg:

however having done a full deep clean before claying i got this (which is a lot safer for the paint having chemically removed any sharp / scratchy contaminates prior to claying

moved it to car care to get more views :wave:

Has anyone on here used clay and could categorically state that it's totally different to a normal bar of soap.

£10.00 for what could potentially be a bar of Dove without the smell is a bit steep, and i'm not sure i could put may faith in the £2.00 bars coming out of Hong Kong.

It's nothing like soap whatsoever.
