How are you going to beat the hosepipe ban?

I have a solution to all your hosepipe ban needs, move to Scotland, we'll never see such ban enforcement.:slayer:

Looks like news reports out today are confirming the hose pipe ban is to be lifted tomorrow.

No need to worry about beating it anymore,(y)

I was just about to post about that!
Also im struggling to come up with some sort of innuendo about beating it ;)

Looks like the ol' automobile is gonna get its first snowfoam this weekend :D

Only 3 out of 7 water companies are lifting the ban - the ones that rely on "surface water" (which people normally call "rivers").

The other 4 that rely more on groundwater are keeping them in place.

With the majority of Lincolnshire being below sea level, there was no real need for a hosepipe ban anyway, only counties with aquifers are still under the ban.

For the benefit of those (like me) living under a hose pipe ban despite the wettest June ever, most pressure washers will happily work if supplied with water from a bucket, so long as the bucket is raised above the machine.

I was able to use my new Nilfisk C110 quite happily this way, using a big bucket sitting on a chair, so only about 50 cm higher than the pressure washer. I sucked on the end of the hose to get things going (ooh err) and then connected it to the machine, and it was happy as a skylark. (Probably a wet skylark.)

I just had to top the bucket up a couple of times, but it was pretty easy really.

As it is a new machine I am not sure if I was getting a lower flow than normal as a result of it not being on mains pressure but it was a hell of a lot better than any alternative involving watering cans or similar.
