Ive said this before but here again is a sure fire way of keeping the locks from freezing. Indeed spray some thing like "vd40" in the barrel, insert key in/out fiddle it all about, then put some 3in1 oil in the barrel, same again with key. Wipe excess off the lock, then stick some "insulting" tape over the lock. This done the night before ....As for the door its self, clean the rubbers & surround of door, spray with silicon all round. .Job done

Yes, the point is though what if you do and they've seized? Your RCL fob battery won't last forever
It worked a treat! All windows/wing mirrors not even a hint of ice. I'd recommend this definitley.

are de icer sprays safe if they get on the bodywork?
i heard that they can cause the paint to fade or the remove lacquer from the paint.
gonna run on paint anyway from the windows and when your driving too. imagine if you soak a panel in it it will damage but not a small streak
well i think you need to go to the nearest motor spares shop and look for winter screen wash Then mix it to the correct concentration stated on the bottle for the temperature that its going to be exposed to:idea:

And if it's the battery in your car that's gone flat then what would you do? Replacing the RCL fob battery will do fook all to make the central locking work!

I wasn't talking about being produced in 2009 Frazer, I installed the remote central locking kit this summer so therefore my locks aren't being used this winter.
