Basically my boss's wife got bird poo on her car and being impatient she used a scourer to remove it, thus resulting in a few light scratches to the body work what would be the best product to use to remove these?

by hand it's going to be near on impossible to remove, you need a polisher if you're going to stand any chance of removing the scratches.

EDIT: there's no harm in trying something like Auto Glym super resin polish to try and minimise the scratches. you'll need to use a good amount of force and rub for a few minutes

just get g3 and a wet cloth. best thing i found for scratches

it all depends on how heavy they are tbh....

if down to primer then its a touch up job

but by the sounds it could just be a megs scratch x unless u have an MP

now then, it pains me to hear of bird mess marking your paint, iv been all around my car recently with meguires scratch X 2.0.

its a light abrasive polish that gets rid of light scratches like a charm

after that use a cleanser product on the panel in question and finish it off with a wax coat, takes about an hour to do a single panel properly but its what my dad used on his TVR chimeara and it reli does come up a treat (y)

hope that helps :)

the thing about light scratches, u can polish and wax them till ur green in the face, but as soon as it wears off all the scratches will come back. i had my car resprayed and it had a few light scratches where they didnt buff it properly and i used super resin and they all came back, had it re buffed, all came back.

so instead i just keep the car waxed at all times and it hides the scratches.

i super resined all my dads cars and allt he marks kept coming back

Not if you polish it correctly

SRP contains fillers which will hide the scratches then fade over time

the likes of scratchx do not contain fillers you actually remove the scratched layer of lacquer or paint or round the edges so it doesn't catch the light...
