Good evening folks,

Since I brought the car in 2006 I have tried everything to get rid of the white marks on my exterior plastic its everywhere. Does anyone know how I can get rid of these?

Plus my exterior plastic has faded quite a lot what is the best product (for the cheapest money) to turn it back to black?

Also it seems I have a massive patch of scratches on the back of my car I have tried T cut and other various but it usually wears off quickly. Any ideas?

Is there any other quick easy and best results for cheap whilst cleaning your car?

Thanks for all who reply. :)

sounds like polishing compound tbh try some AG Bumper Care for the black bits works well, and to remove the polish i presume some peanut butter serious lol.....

scratches try polishing them out with some AG SRP and some Megs scratchX (or whatever its called not the plastX one though)

Big mars plastic pencil rubber then a microfiber cloth with as hot water as you can stand and a strong mix of all purpose cleaner (rinse well)

Autoglym Bumper care (green square on white bottle)

If t-cut wears off your not working it in well enough..... Try t-cut METALLIC work it in a small area for several mins on a foam pad

did you find scrath x anygood, i sell it but people use the megs professional cutting compounds, megs 83 is the best for scratches and swirls, best used with a buffer tho

Hot air gun will restore black plastic trim back to black and the results are permanent. Careful not to make your paintwork bubble around it and don't concentrate on a section at a time.

For other options try wax blaster - the high alcohol content will remove the ingrained wax.

Removing white stains from plastic trim.

Petrol.

As for keeping it black once its clean. Avoid the AG stuff. Its rubbish. Shoe polish is a goodun. Smooth peanut butter is another, although ive never tried that. Just heard its great.
The peanut oil more than the butter - cheaper to buy peanut oil (79p for a small bottle).

both work very well and cheap solutions removing polish removes it in under a min....
the AG stiff is not rubbish works perfectly for restoring the black to black pieces of trim...

and i would avoid the petrol as it still has the possibility of eating away at the paint if spilled slightly on it unless you plan to wash it throughly....

Its ok for an off the shelf product available in most car shops less risky than t-cut for the less savvy just needs a little work thats all ......

To be totally honest i dont like the megs #83 and #80 they are trumped in my eyes my Mernenza when used on the DA polisher

i do agree that the petrol needs to be used with caution. A little on a rag rubbed on and washed off will see the stains gone in no time.

not only the risk of it eating the plastic/paint there is the obvious risk of it catching fire by ESD

i was very careful when using panel prep just don't take risks with petrol its not worth it the vapour is very "clingy" and will cling to your cloths and in the event of a static spark igniting it your toast.....

Just buy a rubber. I got one in my local stationary shop for 79p and it's done the job really well. Cooking oil also works well but from my experience not as well as a rubber.

I disagree, i use AG Bumper Care all the time and it works great. You need to shake the bottle well and keep shaking it every now and again as it separates and won't work then.

rubber like what kind of rubber?

a Big rubber
