I just cleaned my white cinquecento cus its pretty dirty with oily fingermarks and all. And after cleaning it was was highly disappointed, it didnt seem very clean at all. I used turtle wash and wax. Any ideas on how to get a white car looking nice and erm.. white?
cheers

nahh, just laods of dirt and oil that seems to of stained the paint because it doesn;t come out?
cheers

I sometimes put in an additional wash down of 1:1:3 mix of shampoo:bug & tar remover:water before the clear rinse but after the main shampoo. This works wonders on the Turbo Sei (Yellow) & V70 (Black but with a distinct purple tint to highlights which shows up EVERYTHING! :bang:) to get them looking nice n' sparkly.

i've used white t-cut on the sedici which brought it up nicely, took the dirt off pretty well. not overly exepensive. i had tryed to touch up the paint and then sanded the areas with wet 'n dry which left bright white marks, the t cut white made it all bright white.

A white car often suffers from dull paint due to swirling and tar spots, the first one is caused by washing with a sponge in a gritty old bucket in the past and the tar spots will appear on the paintwork anyway. You will also find that a lot of contaminants have clung onto the paint and will be dulling the finish somewhat.

Your best bet for this is to get a clay bar and a lube and clay the car fully, then clean it with a paint cleanser or decent polish (Autoglym Super Resin Polish is best by hand) before applying a good wax to protect the finish. (y)

can't you just donate to the forum and remove the "my sig looked miles better until it was resized" comment from your sig?

I keep meaning to actually, I put that on there when I first got my signature and didn't realise why it was being resized. I should have removed it ages ago. I'll do it now and donate tomorrow. (y)
