then again it depends on what clay he uses even if your careful if its cold or you use a bad technique or a slightly harsh clay the polish will remove the light Marring and anyway it will provide a good clean surface for the wax/sealent to bond to (y)

Well you see i did wonder about needing to polish it becuase its new and only has the faintest of swirlmarks. do you really think i need to clay it? it feels very very smooth after washing. maybe they clayed it at the dealers before i bought it? i doubt it thou?

So back to wax, what should i buy i have heard about this collite stuff lasts for ages anything else?

Bilt hamber Auto balm also sits on my list of must haves (then again i have more car care stuff in the garage than halfords :p)

if you really don't want to polish it this contains a mild solvent cleanser which removes light oxidisation fillers to hide faint swirls and gives a nice deep shine

you can order direct from Bilt Hamber and they have some offers on

you can get the clay, shampoo and balm direct and save £6 ish

» FULL CAR CLEANING AND CARE KIT
Buy Auto-wash with Auto-clay and Auto-balm, and have all three for £27.99, saving you £5.89. + FREE applicator and buffing kit worth £4.99

http://www.bilthamber.com/bilthamber-special-offers.php

If i was you ask BH nicely (by phone) and see if they will swap the normal Auto clay for the soft version

the shampoo is really economical about 2 tea spoons worth to a bucket (if you have hard water)

have a scout on www.detailingworld.co.uk there are many posts on there about Bilt hambers products.....

That was probably done by the dealer's YTS car wash monkey

even with the 2 bucket method any time you touch the paint you risk marking it or bits of dust and grit blown up by other traffic can all lead to swirls or hairline scratches

Ok, i have dicided that im not going to clay or polish it because it really is very very tidy but i will of course wax it. Any suggestions on the best and long lasting wax ?

I clayed, polished and waxed mine when it was 2 months old and the paint was buggered then with about 1k on the clocks. Definately do it on an 06 plate imo.

Just because you cant see it in normal light doesnt mean swirling isnt there. As soon as i got some proper halogens on it you could see all the swirling there.

I used Victoria concours red wax on mine and i have now switched to dodo juice purple haze.
