Hi,

I am a newbie on here. I have owned two Puntos in the past. I bought a new Punto GT back in 1999 which i loved followed by a new Punto Sporting in 2001. I have since mainly bought Hondas but have always had a soft spot for Fiat's.

Anyway, a guy near me gave me his mothers Punto to sort out and thought some folks on here might like to see the results.

It only has 20k miles under its belt, and looks like it has been parked under a large tree for most of its life. Washing it nearly made me sick, it absolutely stank of mouldy fish tanks. :(

All done with a Makita rotary with various Megs polishes and compounding pads.

Heres the befores:

Amazing transformation, well done (y) I bet they were pleased!

What about the grey plastics, can anything be done to really improve those or do they fade to grey from the original black and cannot be 'reclaimed'?

Yeh, did the bumpers as well, just got over anxious with the camera. Groundnut Oil works a treat on faded bumpers. You can get it from Tescos for about £1 for 500ml. Wash bumpers, wipe with groundnut oil. Leave for 5 mins then wash it off. Job done. Also 303 Aerospace Protectant is pretty good.

Good thread (y)

you see so many people driving around in faded red cars to, if theyd put the effort in eh?
