new polish product out at halfords called turtle wax ice. it comes with applicator, and microfibre polishing cloth.

has anybody used this?is it any good?easy?quick? any oppinions?

is yellow a color worth polishing?will it fade? what i dont want to do is....make a mess of my punto like i did with my old uno...i used t - cut on my uno and it looked good for about a week then it looked worse off and wish id never even touched it. any advice? i dont want to wax/polish my car if its going to make a mess of it and then i have to constantly keep doing it every few weeks. im worried if i use any sort of wax's or polishes itl start damaging the paint work.at the moment ive just cleaned my car with water thats it.

any help would be appreciated. haha il just use water if im going to make a mess of my car.

well if you t-cut a car you remove paint/ clearcoat in varying degrees along with any form of wax/sealent aka an LSP

thats where you went wrong there is you t-cutted the car and left it like that you should have applied an LSP (last step product) to protect the fresh paint you exposed..... also t-cut has a lot of bite so you dont want to use it too often you better with a polish (which still has a bit of a cutting action but nowhere near that of T-Cut

the ICE is a all in one wonder type product

I honestly cant see how they can call it a polish as its non abrasive...

it looks fine to be used on well looked after paintwork but if its been neglected it will need something else with a bit of bite to clean the paint first.. something like Autoglym's super resin polish dodo lime lite or Meguires paint cleaner/polish

if the paint is in bad nick or has lots of tree sap stuck to it you could give it a good Claying first to remove this,

this is what i use:

then Polish then LSP

so your looking at 3 steps to get a decent finish

have a read of this posting i made a bit back

ive used this seems good to me for the money fairly easy to use as you can use it on plastic trim etc. bu tthen i dont really know much about waxing etc. but if you want a good quickish shine then it seems to do the job

ah thnx for your views peeps. i dont know anything about waxing either lol.

i just want something that is easy, not too price, actually protects the paint and doesnt take layers of paint off lol. something that actualy prrotects my paint is my main priority and that i dont have to keep doing it every week to keep it to standard.

id go for the ice wax then, you sound like me i was suprised how quick and easy it was to use! not sure how well it actually protects tho, i do it just about every week after its wash because its so quick looks :yum: when its just been done 2!

I used this last night after washing my car and I gotta say my car looks like a showroom model, so I am more than impressed :D.

Definently worth the £12.99 from Halfrauds :p !!!

What did you use, Ice or Wax It Wet?

Anyway, with Wax It Wet, I wax my car about 20x a year (after every wash), with "normal" wax, maybe twice a year, because of all the work and trouble.....!!

Trouble?!?!?! my car gets washed every week and waxed, ice wax is quick and easy to use normally takes about 30mins if that! ice wax is NOT hard to use and does not need much effort to use!

I've used Wax it Wet and Ice too, they are both very good but i think you get what you put in when you use the ICE, a really good finish in my opinion. :slayer:

Used Ice today on my daughter's black Punto and my Tango Red Focus. The results are fantastic :yum:, I can't recommend it highly enough. Sooooooooo easy to use.

next day thats sunny il nip down and get some:)

1 more question though....as we all know red is a prime color to damage and fade.

whats yellow like to take care of?because its a flat colour. does it fade? will ice be a safe product for it?its not going to turn my car cream?hahaha
