I hate wash mitts, i just use a cellulose sponge.

alternatively just use something like this, ideal for getting the dirt of your car and sweeping the muck off the drive afterwards (y):D:cry:

i think were i'm going wrong is by using the brush with the hose as it only seems to be the bumpers and sills with the swirlies. Also i don't think the microfibre wash mitts are helping the situation. Would this wash mitt be ok as it has a deep pile?

i am in 2 minds as a few people on detailing world recommend the turtle wax mitt

decided against the lambswool wash mitt in the end, and i got the turtle wax noodle mitt. Very impressed so far, only problem is that it gets rather heavy once loaded up with water. figures crossed i don't get as many swirl marks now.

I use this method too but i was using a small pile microfibre washmitt and a hose brush. Never again

Yep, definitely dont use that brush again!

I use one of these: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-amp-drying/sonus-sheepskin-wash-mitt/prod_32.html

I decided on that one after lots of reading on detailing world, most people seemed to recommend the meguiars lambswool one but then this was recommended over that one by quite a few people :)

If you realyl fancy going for something special then get a pressure washer and a foam gun, you cover the car in foam and leave it for 5-10 mins then pressure wash off. Don't even need to touch the paint and it'll come out spotless :)

I was looking into these snow foam guns, but i think there abit expensive for abit of foam.

Try leaving the really dirty bits until last. You seem to be doing everything right, but I usually leave the sills and wheels until I`ve done the rest of the car. This way there should be no grit on your cloth to scratch the bonnet etc. Make sure the washing cloth is washed after use. Good luck.

This is what i have also started doing, thanks (y)
