first time ive washed her since i got her (about a month ago?)
i got the jet wash on her first, then soaped her up using... some car plan stuff i got cheap.. then more jet washing, then decided to work some dark sliver/grey tcut for the number of scratches in the paintwork.. after i got bored with that, did a full on polish using this electric polisher my dad told me to use, and buffed it off by hand. then used this stuff called.. demon shine or something... you put it in a bucket of water and pour it on and its meant to bead off, then attacked the car with a microfibre to dry...

looked exactly the same!! could hardly tell i did anything!!

maybe the paint work is beyond help?

Depends on what sort of budget you're on but the tesco's range of car stuff is actually ok, i tried the tescos's paint restorer yesterday, after i had washed it, and it brought the white up lovely, just need to wax it today.

Ive yet to try this Autoglym Super Resin Polish but it comes highly recommended, this might put a shine on your pride and joy (y)

show us a pic of the paintwork, if its been resprayed poorly it'll feel rough and will never shine atall, unless you take some really agressive polish on a electric thing and work the balls of it, however your more likley to put holes in the paint and show the colour/primers underneath.

pic first, then I'll/we can tell you what we think of it

How long did you spend with the electric polisher? Sounds like you did a quick pass and did the whole car in a short time?

You need to go slowly with the machine, it takes a LONG time! My bonnet was terrible, i probably spent about 6 hours on just the bonnet with machine polisher and machine polish (Megs #83). That was exceptional but you really do need to spent time on it if you're hoping to make it shine

meguiers do a very good range of polish and wax, they do a 3 stage cleaner, and it really works, £7+ a bottle but well worth the money!

As stated above it takes time and will need doing a few times to get it spot on but well worth the effort!

No offence dude but you're using some real crappy cheap products there!

If you want an insane shine, buy one of these

then use farecla G3 to mop the bodywork

That will remove a small layer off the paint and after a wax your car will look brand new. As shown here by Dave's coop that's had this treatment

Otherwise, By hand you're better off with something like this package

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polish/sonus-hand-polish-bundle/prod_29.html

That should remove the majority of the cob webbing (those spider-web scratches you pick up over time) and give a good shine. :)

You'll need a final wax on top of that to protect it, any decent wax will do from poorboys, chemical guys, meguiar's etc. This is decent if you can stretch to it

personally if you have no experiance with machine polishers i would stay away as it so easy to go threw the paint you really need a ptg so see how much you are removing

using t-cut will only put swirls and light scratches in the paintwork hence why it aint shining try to stay away from products from halfrauds as a lot of it is no good

;)
