Re: A New Fiat Logo - AGAIN!

Looks great. I hope that is the new Bravo, because i want one to replace my Bravo in a few years time :D

Re: A New Fiat Logo - AGAIN!

Funny, but when I see that new logo, it immediately brings to mind the FIAT 124 Saloon or the FIAT 128 Saloon (1969), and in general big old FIAT saloons that couldn't do 100mph and thus weren't 'worthy' of the round laurel badge. The sports models always had the round badge.

I'd imagine that most of the current models can do 100mph :)
and, that shape is just too similar to the 'viking' logo of the Lada... which was itself conveniently adopted from the FIAT badge of the time.

This was kinda picked up here a few days back, re the new badge:

However, here is a good place to discuss the car, rather than the badge :)

I think that 'dynamic slanted window-line' is getting a bit over-done now that Mazda have used it with the 3. It must make it horrible sitting in the back, too... just look how small those windows are! I must admit I prefer the clean-looking glass area of my Uno, rather than the too-high windows of the Stilo. You'd think that glass was getting really expensive these days, or something

The long nose on the current FIATs (Grande Punto and this) always comes over a little 'heavy' to me, like someone pinched below the windscreen and pulled. Like a person with a bulging nose. It is of course required for pedestrian safety (or so we are told).

I've attached a side view, plus a sketch of something Renault are working on!

From the direct side view, there's something wrong with the position of the rear door handles and the shape of the doors themselves - I think it would look better as a 3-door.

In fact I think all the door handles are too low - looks strange being below the belt like that.

Apart from that, I like it :)
Seriously, I think I like my Stilo better - for the above reasons... Though the front end looks so different on the Grande Punto and this, I suspect it will make the Stilo look very old. But, hopefully true style is timeless.

Re: Stilo replacement - welcome the Bravo!

A pumped up GP/Seat is about the right description for the new Bravo its a shame that car manufacturers cant design something a bit more original instead of putting together a mish mash of other cars that are already on the market. This is what I like so much and find so appealing about my stilo its so distinctive and stands apart from other cars (y)

'A mish mash of other cars that are already on the market' is what manufacturers refer to as 'building a brand identity' (y)

I don't think they ever tried to make another model look like the Stilo, so maybe that is why it was so unpopular and FIAT felt they had to change?

is there a 3dr?

Not yet - it will be the CC, no specific 3 door. Also to come are a crossover 4x4 (do people buy these things?) and an estate. When they'll come is unknown, but I'd expect not until 2008 at the earliest.

Re: Stilo replacement - welcome the Bravo!

It kinds of remind me of my 307XR Peugeot.

The new badge is very much like those of the sixties.

Well at least in Argentina and Brasil the Stilo will be in 2007 in the market but only the ugly 5 door :D
