Re: The One And Only New Fiat Logo And New Bravo Thread.....

I've just seen the Cee'd in my local mall.

It looks perfectly decent, if a little dull. It is, however, beautifully built, and roomy. The dash is very smart and easy to interpret, and the space in the back is great.

The salesman said that the seven year guarantee also covered the exhaust system! I know the last two years of the guarantee are drivetrain only, so I guess that the exhaust system is included in this?

Just under £14000 for the 1600 diesel, including metallic. Includes everthing most people could reasonably want. Pay more for alloys and electric mirrors.
I have to say ,the most beautiful thing about it was the guarantee, but what beauty!

Fiat must surely have to increase theirs to compete?

Re: A New Fiat Logo - AGAIN!

much more like the old one, i cant decide if i like it :p

Yep, The blue one with the silver laurel leaves represents Fiats sporting connections to me.
The new squashed in red one, just seems to repesents Fiat being `squeezed` to me, wonder if its designed by their finance department?
But IMHO its really going to make everyones current car with the blue badge, look very much like `yesterdays car` as with the previous badge change.
I don`t care much for the style of the `blue oval` on Fords, but at least it shows a continuity and `respect` for the customer in not adding further their existing cars depreciation.

I don't think its only Fiat but all car manufacturers. However, I would like to know what the small print says. There must be some reason for the HUGE difference??

Re: The One And Only New Fiat Logo And New Bravo Thread.....

I suspect thay are using the guarantee simply to reel in customers. Er, yes!

Kia are a rich company and must have decided that the costs are worth it to establish a position as a quality product.
In the US many manufacturers have five year warranties. The thing is, I would be persuaded by a seven year guarantee, and I really like Fiats, so what about other people?

when buying new or nearly new you have to consider resale value. traditionally compaines like kia and hyundai and daewoo suffer high depreciation. a long warranty that will last to the 3rd or 4th owner keeps the resale value higher, which actually makes the car more affordable.

if you spend 20k on a new car, and its still worth 18k a year later, that car is cheaper to buy that a 10k car that is only worth 7k a year later. so depreciation is just as important as retail price, if not more important. its why a golf is so affordable even though it costs more than the comptition. you pay more, but you lose less.

if you're trying to establish brand recognition and loyalty you need to do something to convince the doubters about your quality. offering a long warranty makes the purchase risk free even for the second or third buyer, meaning more people will be willing to take the plunge and try the brand. once people try, if they're impressed they'll be more likely to try again. so offering a long warranty is a very effective, and cheap, method of marketing. plus if your cars are actually any good the warranty will not cost you a fortune. thats why fiat will not be offering a 7 year warranty any time soon.

Another one on the TJet 150 bhp, this time from Auto Express:

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/firstdrives/205139/fiat_bravo.html

A bit more positive, but still complaints about ride quality...

also complains that the 150bhp 1.4T lacks torque, which has been said before. my main concern is also reiterated in that review-"Taking only 18 months to go from boardroom to showroom, most of its development was done in the virtual world"
As an IT man i know full well the limitations and risks of CAD. i honestly think rushing the development is not something fiat should show off about. its a risk they have taken, and it may not pay off.

Re: The One And Only New Fiat Logo And New Bravo Thread.....

All you say about depreciation and value is true of course. Apparently the Maserati Quattroporte has brilliant residuals and is therefore the 'cheapest' luxury car to own.
The reason: it looks fabulous and has a magical name.

As for the torque thing. Small capacity engines have to get going with the torque inherent in their swept volume. The quality of their performance depends on how the transition is made from natural to forced aspiration, and how soon and well manged this is. I look forward to driving one of these small petrol turbos to see how they work, my suspicion is that the initial take-up is poor, as you are setting off with a 1400cc engine and expecting the instant power of a two litre. However, if they are economical; then never mind!

Thanks,
Just read the AOL piece.
So, it'll be the Cee'd then:(

Re: New Bravo

if you buy one avoid the 1.4 turbo's, they lack torque and need to be kept at the right rpm to perform. the M-JET diesel units have had much better reviews, will cost less to run, and will suffer less depriciation.

prices have not been released since it does not go on sale until july, but it seems a 'good' spec 1.4 T-Jet Sport model will cost you 17k. obviously active and dynamic will be less. but you really want to get the toys if you're spending this much money. it would be better to get a good spec punto rather than a bottom spec bravo.

Re: The One And Only New Fiat Logo And New Bravo Thread.....

The new Bravo was released in France on 17 March. We will get it here in Belgium sometime in April. The French car magazines will soon be publishing tests. I've already seen a first impression in Auto Plus of the 120 HP JTD version. The one I'm waiting for is the 150 HP JTD in the break/estate/station wagon when it comes out later this year or early next.

In the Auto Plus review, the negative comments had to do with poor interior materials and assembly. They also thought the 120 JTD was rather noisy. The positives had to do with the style and performance.

WOW! Have you seen these mock-ups of a Bravo coupe/cabriolet? They look AMAZING! Fiat really has got it's flair back!

How WOW?

Looks like any other mid size cabriolet to me.

Re: The One And Only New Fiat Logo And New Bravo Thread.....

hi people,

found some news on the 1.4 t-jet engine. it is quoted to have a 0-62mph in 8.5s or 8.2s if the sport button is used and a top speed of 132mph.

now that sounds like a little cracking motor!!!! Fantastic for a 1.4 turbo.

I am bored of diesels. My dad has the stilo 1.9 jtd remapped (angel tuning) and I (family) the punto mk2.5b 1.3 jtd. Although the 1.9 is quick, I miss the sound, so we intend to keep the punto for economy and get a petrol (bravo 1.4 t-jet) for a bit of fun!!!

I honestly can't wait for a test drive!!!

Re: The One And Only New Fiat Logo And New Bravo Thread.....

a bravo CC is not completely unrealistic, they're a popular subsector these days.

however cars that in the C segment are never made into CC's, so a CC Grande Punto is more likely imo.

considering fiat dont have a CC in the range i would assume that eventually one will get released.
