I've just noticed that the tip of the exhaust on my bravo is jet black; covered in soot. I've never noticed this before - do we think it's a result of the E10 fuel I've fed it (done 400 miles on it now) or more likely related to the startling thirst for Magnatec that it's had for the last year or so?<br />

Also, probably unrelated, but the gearbox felt like it was full of treacle when it was hot on Tuesday. In fact no, this is definitely unrelated.

Yeah, my thoughts as well, sadly. Wonder if it's the turbo leaking, or something cylinder related. Sadly can't think of anything cheap that it might be.

My local Sainsbury's has had their pumps marked on the nozzle as E10, for a few weeks now. Friday, there's a notice on each pump saying E10 coming from Sept 1st, so a conflict there.

I emailed them. Their reply was that the nozzle labelling had been premature, and the fuel was still E5. Not had a reply yet to my question about misdecribing the product. So if you think you got E10 from Sainsbury's, or elsewhere, it may not be. New nozzle labels sent out, likely many employees may jump the gun, unless specifically told to wait for a particular delivery. I guess the first delivery will be a bit of a mix.

E10 means a maximum of 10% not necessarily that it allways has 10% so probably legal still
